Polishable Concrete Overlays
A polishable overlay is a cement-based layer placed over an existing slab and then ground and polished. It gives a tired or patched floor a new, polishable surface without removing the concrete underneath.
Where it works well
- Slabs too worn or patched to polish directly
- Interiors where tear-out is not practical
- Floors that need aggregate, color or a terrazzo-style look
- Commercial spaces wanting a low-maintenance polished floor
What makes the finish distinctive
Sheen is a choice, not a default — matte, honed or high gloss. Aggregate or glass can be seeded into the overlay before polishing to expose color and sparkle as the surface is ground.
